Optional Features
Using Quotes
This procedure is used to enter information received when a customer wants work performed or a new contract. You typically perform this procedure when a customer needs work performed and the customer wants the price negotiated ahead of time.
Header
- New — used to create a new quote
- Quick Quote — used to create a quote using the quote wizard
- Delete — used to delete the quote
- Save — used to save the quote
- Refresh — used to reload the quote information from the database
- Copy — used to create a new quote based on the quote currently on the screen
- Revision — used to create a quote revision; each revision is saved and any one can be accepted
- Print — used to print the quote
- Mail Merge — used to send a quote to the customer using a mail merge template

Description |
| Quote Status | Identifies the status of the quote. When the status is changed to Accepted, the quote is converted to the appropriate request or contract record. |
| Price Override | Indicates whether prices specified on the quote always override calculated prices on request. Whenever usage is specified on a request, a quote override price is automatically applied. |
| Adjustment Pct | Identifies the adjustment applied to prices for usage. |
Lines
- New — used to create a quote line
- Delete — used to delete a quote line
- Template — used to create a quote line based on a template, for example a request template
- Reprice — used to reprice a part or labor quote line
Field Label |
Description |
| Quote Line | Identifies the quote line and is a link to a screen where you can view quote line information. |
| Converted | For accepted quotes, identifies the record that was created based on information for the quote line. |
| Line Type | Identifies the type of quote line and ultimately the type of record created based on the quote line. |
| Part ID | For a usage type of part, identifies the partyou plan to use. |
| Usage Type | Identifies the type of usage specified on the quote line, part or non‐part. This value is blank for contract quote lines. |
| Part Line Code | For a usage type of part, identifies the part line code to apply to the part usage. |
| Line Code | For a usage type of non‐part, identifies the line code to apply to the non‐part usage. |
| Quantity | Identifies the quantity to specify for part or non‐ part usage. |
| Manual Line Price | Identifies the price to apply to this quote line. If the price override option is selected in the header, this price is also applied to all other matching usage. |
| Price | Identifies the specified or calculated price forthis quote line. |
Parts
Parts specified on quote lines appear on this tab.

| Convert Action | Identifies how the specified part appears on the record created when the quote is accepted. If you choose to do nothing, the part remains on the quote as a reference and you add it to the related record as usual. If the price override option is selected in the header, the price of the part as specified on the quote is used for the related record. |
Non Part
Labor and expenses specified on quote lines appear on this tab.

| Convert Action | Identifies how the specified labor or expense appears on the record created when the quote is accepted. If you choose to do nothing, the labor or expense remains on the quote as a reference and you add it to the related record as usual. If the price override option is selected in the header, the price of the labor or expense as specified on the quote is used for the related record. |
Create a quote manually
Non Part
- Access the quote screen and create a new quote.
- Fill the fields as necessary.
- After your customer has accepted the quote, change the quote status to Accepted and save. The appropriate records are created.
Create a quote using a workflow
Access the Workflow screen and perform one of the following workflows:
- Quote — create a new quote
- Contract to quote — create a quote based on a contract
- Request to quote — create a quote based on a request
- Project to quote — create a quote based on a project
